Coming from a diverse background with experience in aviation, engineering, marketing and mergers and acquisitions, Will uses his broad range of experience and education to bring an outside-the-box perspective to his client engagements.
“I find the environment around us, both built and natural, to be incredibly fascinating. Naturally, when you add the human and profit elements into this equation, things get even more interesting. It’s like solving one big differential equation and that’s what I most enjoy about consulting in the AEC industry.”
Will has always been intrigued with the way the world around him works. Spending his youth in and around his father’s aviation business, his natural mechanical inclination led him to study and earn a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas. While Will enjoyed understanding the inner workings of the world around us, being the son of a small business owner, Will decided to pursue a more business-focused career.
During his junior year, Will and some friends started a marketing and content creation business in which Will served as the Director of Operations and handled all logistics, budgeting and development of process and procedures. In the midst of the COVID downturn and after a merger with another firm didn’t pan out, Will and his partners decided to part ways to pursue their respective career interests.
Despite the unsuccessful merger, Will decided he liked the energy and excitement of M&A and joined an AEC-focused management consultancy as an M&A Analyst before moving into an M&A Advisor role. Will quickly realized that working in M&A within the AEC industry was a great fit for his skillset as it allows him to leverage his outgoing nature to make valuable connections on clients’ behaves while also remaining adjacent to his engineering education and technical background.
After spending four years on another M&A team and working with hundreds of design and professional services firms, Will joined The Coxe Group to continue using his expertise in transition planning, buy-side and sell-side M&A to help AEC firms and owners realize their business goals.
Will holds a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) accreditation from the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA).
In his free time, Will enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, flying the family’s Piper Cubs, and most of all, staying connected with friends, family, and business associates. If he’s in your city, you’re probably going to hear from him.
Will lives in Fayetteville, AR.
